COLD WEATHER ON THE NEW YEAR'S EVE

These pictures are from good memories. A shy, cold sunshine in Arbroath, Scotland. Such beautiful nature!!!
Missing Brazil, warm weather, but in five minutes of walking, some chatting in Portuguese sounded as if I was home.
I want to praise Lord for 2007. I am a person who always looks forward, and I want to say that this year was truly remarkable, a blessing year, with so many gifts from Lord. I am very glad, pleased, emotional for so many beautiful moments.
I hope I can eternalise some of these moments through these pictures.
1 "But now listen, Jacob, my servant,
Israel, whom I have chosen. 2 This is what the LORD says—
he who made you, who formed you in the womb,
and who will help you:
Do not be afraid, Jacob, my servant,
Jeshurun, whom I have chosen. 3 For I will pour water on the thirsty land,
and streams on the dry ground;
I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring,
and my blessing on your descendants. 4 They will spring up like grass in a meadow,
like poplar trees by flowing streams. 5 Some will say, 'I belong to the LORD';
others will call themselves by the name of Jacob;
still others will write on their hand, 'The LORD's,'
and will take the name Israel.

NEW YEAR IS COMING

Christmas has gone, and a new year is going to begin.

It is time to make a review of the past year. 2007 is the year for my life.

You might be thinking, which part doesn't belong to my life? You are right. Every single second is just part of my life story, of my existence in this world, and I don't want to forget any bit about it. I know, that some pieces would be better if we really could forget. But, what is the point? How can I make my story? Simple as it is...join everything... and put all together in words.

CHRISTMAS EVE

“So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.”

Luke 2:16-20

My friend from Brazil lives in the capital, Brasilia, and her family lives in the south, about 3000km far, which means 3 days traveling. It is a very tiring trip, but it all worthies to be with ones we love so much.

One thing is very true when we are lonely, in a quite place and far from all the movement of Xmas season brings, you have your own time to think about this celebration.

My friend said she wants to read something good, to meditate about Xmas,so that she can really live the nativity. I believe she is right.

It is 9pm in Scotland, all the presents opened, meal eaten, we are now getting ready to go to the church.

I wish God opens my eyes, my ears, and prepares my heart to receive his words. I hope He can use me to take comfort to the ones in need.

LOVE

1 Corinthians 13

1 "If I speak in human or angelic tongues, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body [to hardship] that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. "

CHRISTMAS TREE

This is our 2007 Christmas tree in Scotland.
People are so excited this time of the year. Shopping, gifts, holiday, beautiful meals, cards, chocolates, peace and quiet time or very busy and noisy. We have received quite a lot of cards, bought some presents, and already decided for our meals.
Our Christmas is going to be celebrated just like couples do, but all that really matters is being with ones we love so much. I can't have all my family reunited at this time of the year, but my heart brings each of them so close. North or South we are all together in the true love of Jesus Christ.

MY TREASURES

MY DAUGHTER ALANA, MY SISTER SUZE, AND MY SON IGOR.

LOVE YOU MY TREASURES.

A GIFT FROM HEAVEN

“And you, my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High; for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for him, to give his people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins, because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven”-

"Luke 1:76-78"

When I think about Christmas, I usually compare Brazilian and Scottish celebrations. Generally as every where, people go shopping and buy, and buy, and buy. That is absoulutely beautiful for the economy of our countries. But, the true meaning of this date should be in our heart.

Give...just give without waiting anything back. Because it is better to give than to receive.

Love...because love cures the pain.

Laugh...because a good laugh is better than cry.

Cry....because if you are happy, a tear that rolls from your eyes makes me pray.

Pray...because you are chosen by God. And it is a blessing.

POSH PORTO FINO

Do you think this place is enough for everyone?

BIRTH OF LOVE

I hope the birth of Jesus and all the celebrations surrounding Christmas bring a new birth for our lives.

I am including myself.

I wish Lord takes my heart, my mouth, my actions for His own purpose.

All the sacrifice Jesus suffered in that cross is not useless. HE, the God Almighty, gave us his only son to die for us. But HE lives and HIS kingdom is forever.

You know every heart, all my friends, my family. Please DAD, give us your blessings, look after us everyday, until the last day of our lives. Amen

JUST DO IT

Now that I am relaxing at home, and checking my blogs, I see:

Yesterday, when I posted, I was trying to find Isaiah and Mathew, and for some reason I was not successed. So I posted Luke 1: 30-36 that is exactly part of my today's reading.

Do you believe in coincidence?

I was there in that pulpit because I was supposed to be there, and it doesn't matter which word I had to read. I just had to do it.

So, if you have...just do it.

I am emotional at the moment, and I believe God has a purpose for us in this life.

I worship Lord for his strong presence in my life.

Thanks Lord. Amem

THE BIRTH OF JESUS FORETOLD

Many weeks ago, a lady from the church invited me to read the words on the 23rd of December. Of course I accepted. It is an honour for me. It was supposed to be Isaiah 7:10-16 and Mathew 1:18 to the end. Brilliant! But for some reason she changed the date from the 23rd to 16th. It was fine as well, and to be sure the words were corrected, I contacted the lady, which were confirmed.

So, today, the 16th of December, I took my old Bible to the church, but it is Today's New International Version, and very confident I was looking forward to reading, when the minister announced:

"Today the reading will be done by Suzel, who is such and such, which is a long passage, from Luke 1: ..... " I couldn't hear him properly, it was not the chapter that was told.

"No panic, I thought, you will be fine."

I looked for the words and toward to the pulpit I made my reading.

Luke 1:26-38

The Birth of Jesus Foretold

26 In the sixth month of Elizabeth's pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, 27 to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin's name was Mary. 28 The angel went to her and said, "Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you."
29 Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. 30 But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. 31 You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, 33 and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end."
34 "How will this be," Mary asked the angel, "since I am a virgin?"
35 The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. 36 Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be unable to conceive is in her sixth month. 37 For no word from God will ever fail."
38 "I am the Lord's servant," Mary answered. "May it be to me according to your word." Then the angel left her.

HE IS THE KING

It is certain that Jesus is the King of the kings. A long time ago was said that his kingdon is forever....it will never end.

HE IS MY KING

“But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end.”

HE IS MY SHEPHERD

“When he had called together all the people's chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Christ was to be born. "In Bethlehem in Judea," they replied, "for this is what the prophet has written: " 'But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you will come a ruler who will be the shepherd of my people Israel.”

Matthew 2:4-6

Jesus is my shepherd. Thank you Lord for this gift in my life

NAMORAR

Yesterday I watched the movie "Brave Heart". It was probably the third or fourth time, but when the film is good I really think that it is a pleasure to review the story, the context, the pictures. I enjoy it. I can have a very great time watching a movie.

It means "namorar".

Let's see if I can express better the meaning of this Portuguese word.

Namorar means to have pleasure in what you are doing. It takes your mind, it gives you a spirit of rejoice. It is like a love at first sight. You live that moment at maximum of an excitement.

This is what God makes in my life. It is the most beautiful feeling you can ever have.

I know many people are looking for a meaning for LIFE. They think life is one day after other. Lots of stress, depression, no excitement at all.

This is the key word "excitement". Lack of "LIFE" in your LIFE.

Everybody needs to be "enamorado". "Enamorado" by someone, "namorar" someone, "namorar" something.

JOHN 14: 6

“Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

BATTLES

As I am Brazilian, I think much more in Portuguese than in English, and sometimes the words just fly away. Incredible!

Think about this word "BATTLE".

How many battles have you fought this year?

Have you been succeed?

Have you thought about it carefully?

How many times have you invited Jesus to be your guide, your light, your judge, your doctor, your friend?

How is your life?

Are you happy, sad, disappointed, or what?

Questions are made, because I would like to invite you to pray with me for everything you have been living.

JESUS, SON OF GOD. THE ONLY SON. WE ARE ON OUR KNEES WITH OUR HEADS BOUND, TO SAY THANK YOU, TO ASK YOU MERCY OF OUR LIVES. WE HAVE BEEN FIGHTING OUR BATTLES EVERY DAY, AND WE HAVE SUCCEED IN MANY, LOST SOME, AND WAITING FOR SOME MORE WE WANT TO FINISH. BUT WE WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO BE WITH US , BECAUSE YOU ARE OUR ROCK, AND WE WANT TO WIN, AND WE BELIEVE WE ARE WINNERS IN JESUS CHRIST.

THE SCOTT MONUMENT

"This huge Gothic tower was built to commemorate the work of Sir Walter Scott (1771-1832).The foundation stone was laid on August 15th 1840 and it was completed in 1844 at a cost of little over £16,154.00.

Rising to 200ft 6 inches high it contains a spiralling staircase of 287 steps and offers magnificent views from the top spire.

Built of light sandstone, the pollution from traffic over the years has darkened it considerably.Seated under the huge arches of the tower is a solid marble sculpture of Sir Walter Scott with his beloved dog ' Maida' carved by sculptor John Steell. "

I believe it is a very well known building in the world. I knew from a post card, and when I saw it for the first time, I recognized it straight way. Very gorgeous. I little dirty I admit, because of the pollution, but very beautiful.

I have had some opportunities to visit different places, and I really appreciate it.
Internet brings us very close to the world we don't know yet. Beautiful shots really worth to be published.

This is in Scotland, Edinburgh. It was a very pleasant weekend.

"In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.” Hebrews 1:1-2

TEARS

I usually deal well with some difficult circumstances, but lately, I feel I have been very sensitive.

Well, probably for the fact of being distant of my children for eleven months, and with the festive of Christmas season very close, I have been thinking of the ones I love so much. My daughter, my son, my sister, my brothers, my nieces, friends...how I miss them so much.

Most of the time, I feel I can cope with my feelings.

Anyway, when one thing goes wrong, and another, ufa...it is like a drop in glass of water. It is difficult, isn't it?

Yesterday I cried all the tears I had in my body. It was the result of so much emotion in my life. Simply, I couldn't stop crying. I cried one day, literally 24 hours. I just got calm, when I had applied it all.

That is it. Everything is fine. Raise your head, look at the horizon, for the best.

TIME

My busy days haven't given me lots of free time lately to do things I really love doing. I have missed a long walk in the nature trail, and smell the nature, to feel the "chilly" fresh air on my face, and some silence during the day.

The days are very short now. About 4pm is really dark. So, when I come home from my jobs I want to get home, where it is warm and cosy, very quickly.

Today, I walked in the dark from the bus stop until home. It was so so good! I need it!

I want to thank Lord for the challenges of this day. It was not an easy day, but glorious, because it was one more day.

I worship Lord to be so kind with my life and with my family.

I want to thank Lord for the gift He gave us yesterday. My daughter passed the first big test to enter at the university. It is His gift. Thank you Lord so much!

GIVE THANKS TO GOD

“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

"Colossians 3:17"

Sunday is a special day for me, because I usually go to the church at 11:30am. I can tell you that in Brazil I used to go more often, not only on Sundays, but some other days of the week as well. Unfortunately, I have noticed that it is very hard to find an alternative time to be at the church in Scotland. Most of them are opened only on Sundays for the time of the service. Few people have attended regularly the service and rarely I meet young people. It upsets me in certain way. I always wonder how children have been brought up lately, if they know about Jesus. I miss the happiness and the good time we Brazilians have together before, during and after the service. It is a day to meet friends, family, and always to have a snack all together, at least that short coffee after the service.

Good remembrances make my day.

I have a mix of feelings from the past and the present, but what I need to worship God is to be conscious about who I am, and for what I am here.

"Give thanks to God."

TRUST IN LORD

One morning this week God gave me these words from PSalm 20.

It was a beautiful moment full of love when I felt the presence of the Holy Spirit.

The strength comes from Lord through His words, His love, His care, His guidance, His light...

I hope you get the same when you have this minute to read, meditate and leave Lord works in your heart. Just open it, because He knows you more than you can imagine. He knows your past, your present, and your future.

1 May the LORD answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.
2 May he send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion.
3 May he remember all your sacrifices and accept your burnt offerings.
4 May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.
5 May we shout for joy over your victory and lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the LORD grant all your requests.
6 Now this I know: The LORD gives victory to his anointed. He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary with the victorious power of his right hand.
7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.
8 They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm.
9 LORD, give victory to the king! Answer us when we call!

Thanks Lord for everything you have done for me, in my life. I am what I am because you have work in me.

I love you my Saviour.

LIVE THE WORDS

"22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other."

Galatians 5:22

These are the words my son has recommended for the previews post.

Just a note. These are the words on the top of the page.

Make it your way of life. Spread love, it doesn't matter what or where. Be patient, specially if you are the person who wants everything for yesterday. Be kind, even when someone is rude with you. Stay in peace!!! Keep your faith in Jesus Christ.

Just live it, simple the way it is. True and wonderful...

ONE NATION

There are some distinction differences between one nation and another. It is a perfect distinction that makes unique as a people with our habits, culture, and language.

What makes one nation?

As a Brazilian living in Scotland, I have experienced in my daily life through people's behaviour what is a nation. It is the union for one ideal. Ideal of life, respect, prosperity, peace, happiness, and joy...

All the best. But I can't see a future without God. Because GOD is only ONE. He makes a nation.

15 Blessed is the people of whom this is true;
blessed is the people whose God is the LORD.

CHILDREN WHO NEED PARENTS, NOT PILLS

I try to be an up to date person reading the newspaper everyday. I don't read only the headlines, but also the articles that catch my eyes.

Today, my eyes were caught by the headline above, "Children who need parents, not pills", and it starts like this:

"As BELIEF in God is declines, so children have become our new religion."

Agree or not, I had to read the whole article. Allison Pearson is brilliant and she brings us an idea of how protective we are as parents;

"We don't send nine-year-olds up chimneys like those nasty Victorians, do we? Hell, no."

We are better parents and our kids have the voice, they are heard when they are required, it means, all the time. I would say that we are there to serve them.

"They are our hope of the life to come."

Have you heard about ATTENTION DEFICIT HYPERACTIVITY DISORDER? It is ADHD , and children have been prescribed drugs for hyperactivity. Despite the fact that the drug has caused terrible side effects, as the writer, I am wondering about the caring society. Old people and young people have been sedated.

"Sadly, the medicine that both the very old and the very young need is not available on prescription. It's called time. And time is what we simply don't have to give them."

I had a chance to visit a household in Scotland, and now I know how it is, and there are lots of them. It also reminds me the time my mummy was ill and I couldn't leave her in a nursing home. I tried my best to give the attention she needed, all my love, my care, my time, my respect. But I know my attention was divided, because I had my kids, my family, my job. I don't remember just plonking my kids in front of a DVD instead, to carry on my To-Do list. On the opposite, they were with me, visiting my mummy, living my life, learning through my experience, that you can't have everything you want.

I see that as a consequence of the "crazy" routine people are living nowadays. Society is coming in for drugs, drugs to sleep, to eat, to not eat, to be calm, to be active, and for "n" reasons we can imagine. People are looking for quick fix.

I would say that it is really sad that

"BELIEF in God is declining"

As a Christian I just can see and say, it is never late to change.

“For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit,”1 Peter 3:18

PEACE IN YOUR HEART

Life is a road that we cross with lots of challenges. Indeed, It is not easy.

When we are still little children we usually think about a future that seems to be far. Fortunately, the future comes to everybody, and some facts can put us through difficult decisions at that moment we are not sure about things we think we know. It is a mix of feelings, fears...they come all together...

But it doesn't matter where we go, what we do, Lord is always there to help us.

1 You have searched me, LORD, and you know me.
2 You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.
3 You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.
4 Before a word is on my tongue you, LORD, know it completely.
5 You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.
7 Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?

PSalm 139

HELPER

18 The LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him."

Genesis 2

I like this verse very much. It is all about a concept Lord has given to the creation of the man and the woman. It is natural they live together. The woman was made so that the man will not be alone, and it is not good to be alone.

It is very beautiful when I see couples together, sharing their lives with true love, respect and companionship. Lord expect a minimum of recognition of what he has done for us. He knows about our needs and priorities.

Respect your wife. She is God's creation

PRAYING

“For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding.”- "Colossians 1:9"

I have wondering why some people take a very different route for their lives. Quite interesting the options I can see around the places I have been. Different culture, different wishes, and different behaviour.

What makes me to be different of you?

What is the distinction character of each of us human beings?

Lets meditate about the word "KNOWLEDGE"...

What kind of knowledge do we need to live in peace in this world?

LIVE IN PEACE

"I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.”- 1 Timothy 2:1-2

Yesterday, I experienced a feeling of disappointment when I heard a friend using a different tone of voice and with hard authority trying to make her voice very strong toward somebody. That hurt me a lot.

When something goes wrong with someone, I usually have my thoughts concentrated in that for long hours. I pray, I ask for God's guidance and also a response to see a conversion of that situation.

I can tell you that I prayed for the person, for the situation, and I got the response from God straight away. God uses who HE wants to change a situation, and I say that HE did it.

I worship God because HE heard my request, my prayer, and now I can be in peace, and live quiet.

Thank you my Lord.

MERCY LORD

My Jesus Christ. Please, mercy.

“And he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment—to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ.”

Ephesians 1:9-10

Serve the Lord, because He will reward. Don't get upset with something, or someone. Probably you are investing in the wrong place.

"Serve whole-heartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men, because you know that the Lord will reward everyone for whatever good he does. "

Ephesians 6:7-8

I WORSHIP YOU LORD

I worship Lord, because he is with me.

He is everywhere, and in everything. He blesses my day, and everything around me. He forgives my sins, and he gave his only son to die for me, to save my life, to give me eternal life.

Thanks God!!

Stay with me. Guide me. Bless my family, my job, my friends.

I need you for everything I do, everywhere I go. Look after me. Don't let me say what is not praise you.

In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

24 " ' "The LORD bless you and keep you;
25 the LORD make his face shine on you and be gracious to you;
26 the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace." '

HOLY SPIRIT

Genesis 1

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
3 And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.

Genesis 2

4Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

John16

"I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. 14 He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. 15 All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you."

Watching the Nature

Watching the nature, watching the beauty all around!

I see the lights, I see the dark,

I see the love, I see the bright,

I see the colours, I see the born,

I see the mountains, I see the chains,

I see your eyes, and through their silence I see your love,

I see your smile, and your efforts to praise me,

I see my road, my steps, and how far I am to reach your cover,

Holy spirit of God.

stay with me,

cover my life with your almighty blood,

every drop of the blood you drop in that cross,

to save my life.

Save me. Jesus Christ....Amen

RENEW

“For, "All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord stands forever." And this is the word that was preached to you.”- 1 Peter 1:24-25

2006 Autumn

BEAUTIFUL COLOURS, BUT A LITTLE CHILLY. CLIME HAS CHANGED FROM 0 TO 17.

AUTUMN

END OF OCTOBER. BESIDES THIS GREY DAY YOU STILL GET BEAUTIFUL COLOURS AND QUALITY OF LIGHT.

SUMMER

This picture was taken two months ago, when everything was still flowering.

“For it is God's will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish men. Live as free men, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as servants of God.”- 1 Peter 2:15-16"

Everybody has the dream to be free. Probably the conception of freedom is misunderstood nowadays. When I was admiring these flowers and trying to get the best shot, I felt God's hands blessing that moment, the incredible chance to be on the street, without any concerning to praise Lord for the beautiful view.

Meditation

“For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”- Hebrews 4:12

It is beautiful to understand how the word of God is so alive and so active in a Christian life. It is like a communion. It comes to improve our life, bringing knowledge, comprehension of the world we live. I mean "Quality" of life, that you can only acquire through the HOLE SPIRIT.

Yes, the Lords' word is like a sword, and it is sharp, it cuts, cures, joins, judges in the right proportion. You have only to open your heart.

ENJOY YOURSELF

As I told before, the way I see myself affects my spiritual progress.

I know, understand, and live how demanding is the world I live. Perfectionism, punctuality, expertise...it is a live circle.

This is how the world works, bus I am sure God operates differently.

If I were perfect as I would like to be I wouldn't need HIS GRACE.Sometimes, God leaves flaws in us to remind us how much we need HIM each day.

Just ENJOY. Enjoy where you are, who you are, and stop comparing yourself with other people.

"Before I formed you...I...approved of you." Jeremiah 1:5

GOD'S CONCEPT OF YOU

It is inevitable when you just get your mind away comparing yourself with someone else. You understand what I am talking about. Your friend is for some reason more clever than you are. And that mother!!! She is so perfect! How she manages to have all those responsibilities and still smiles!!

This is why I am on the road.

I am not perfect, but I am not inferior or unworthy. I don't want this kind of thought to retard my spiritual growth.

Nobody knows me like God does.

I AM ON THE ROAD

Yeah. I am on the road!

I was born to grow and develop maturity. Only God know my heart, my mind, because...

"BEFORE I FORMED YOU....!...APPROVED OF YOU."

ALWAYS GIVE THANKS TO GOD

“Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”- Ephesians 5:19-20

My God, my father, my saviour, I worship you for all you have done in my life.

MY PRECIOUS PEARLS

IGOR AND ALANA ...YOU ARE MY PRECIOUS PEARLS.
Thanks Lord for our lives.

WISDOM

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”- Proverbs 9:10

I remember when my son said: "Mummy, God is not point his finger to you in order to punish you."

But I know, He is watching my acts carefully. I fear the Lord.

NATURE

This road is very close to my town, about 3miles far away.

It was sunshine, a little bit chili to ride a bike, but it was irresistible to not be out for some fresh air.

Scotland is a contrast of a beautiful green colour on the ground and a beautiful blue sky. I try to keep my camera with me for every unexpected shot.

This day in particular, I stopped in front of this very tall tree to admire its shape. How God is so perfect! I see HIM everywhere, and in HIS creation. It's nature!

Genesis 1

11 Then God said, "Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds." And it was so. 12 The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

COINCIDENCE NO

I don't believe in coincidence.

I believe that God do everything right and perfect, providing people I meet, place I go, and matching all of them so perfectly, that I know "only ONE could be responsible for."

I always invite Christ to take the first position for me, so that I can rest in His arms.

“I desire to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart.”- Psalm 40:8

PERFECTION

“Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.”- Psalm 37:4

My Lord I love you and I declare that you are the only one I worship.

Thank you my Saviour for all the gifts I have got, for the beautiful jobs, for my home, family, health, provision...

You are perfect, and only you can do everything right.

Stay with me everyday of my life, in Jesus name...Amen

HOW ARE YOU TODAY?

When you ask someone..."How are you doing?...you can expect...

"So far so good!" "Not bad!" "Very well, thank you!"

We can't forget that this life is only a spiritual journey, and it doesn't matter how far we have to go. We need courage...and nothing can discourage us...as Paul said:

"We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." 2Corinthians 10:5

MAN'S HEART

“Listen to advice and accept instruction, and in the end you will be wise. Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails.”- Proverbs 19:20-21

AS THE SPIRIT... WORKS WITHIN US, WE BECOME...LIKE HIM.

2 CORINTHIANS 3:18

AS TH SPIRIT...WORKS WITHIN US, WE BECOME...LIKE HIM.

It is easy to forget I am getting older. But looking at earlier pictures, I realize how I was before. I notice the same feeling can take me when it is about spiritual growth, until I look back and how I was before Jesus saved me and turned my life around . Sometimes, growing up involves growing pains!

BRAVE HEART IN EDINBURGH

DO YOU KNOW WHO WAS WILLIAN WALLACE - BRAVE HEART?

CRITICISM

The wise listen, learn and use it for his own benefit.

Ask for suggestions, correct your mistakes.

I would say: watch what Christ wants to show you, accept and keep in peace.

PROVERBS 13:18

" Whoever disregards discipline comes to poverty and shame,
but whoever heeds correction is honored. "

USE CRITICISM TO YOUR ADVANTAGE

When I was criticized using a cycling helmet, I had to smile to receive that comment. It was a very hard smile, but it really worthies.

When your smile comes up with certain difficulty, it is usually noticed by everyone who knows you.

What happened?

After almost two weeks after that episode the person who offended me, said she was sorry about that, that was not her intention to hurt my feelings. Of course, I not only accepted the excuses, but I also gave another smile back, but with my eyes fully pleased.

As you see, don't hide your feelings. Instead, use the criticism to your advantage.

Proverbs 1:5

" let the wise listen and add to their learning,
and let the discerning get guidance— "

PRAISING LORD

Learn everything you can about your job;

Work in team, helping each other;

Do your best in everything you do;

Praise Lord with your labour;

"If you speak, you should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If you serve, you should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised "

1 PETER 4:11

THANKFULLY

Recognize God as your true employer.

EPHESIANS 6:7-8

" Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, 8 because you know that the Lord will reward each one of you for whatever good you do,..."

BEING HAPPY IN YOUR JOB

I don't know how is your life at this present moment, your job, your achievements, your wishes, your relationships. But I believe when everything is working, a feeling of happiness can involve you based on all good about yourself.

Growing in confidence and strength seem to be easier when your gifts and skills are utterly developed and used through your life's work.

ECCLESIASTES 5:19

" Moreover, when God gives people wealth and possessions, and the ability to enjoy them, to accept their lot and be happy in their toil—this is a gift of God. "

THE PRAYER

"I pray you'll be our eyes, and watch us where we go.

And help us to be wise in times when we don't know.

Let this be our prayer, when we lose our way.

Lead us to a place, guide us with your grace

To a place where we'll be safe."

In August 2006, I started a volunteer job in a school as a learning assistant. Fourteen months later, I mean, October 2007, I am celebrating the job of my dreams. I have just realized that both places, the school I was as a volunteer, and the place I got a job, work as partners. In a foreign country, where you are a stranger, it is absolutely amazing. It is like a circle, all beautifully linked. In the centre, I see Jesus, WHO prepares the best of the best. I am very pleased for the opportunities I have had and lived as a Christian.

I see God guiding, leading and preparing the way it has to be.

Thank you Lord, my Saviour, Almighty.

A CHANGE

EZEKIEL 36

25 "I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws."

MY HELPER

1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.
Psalm 121

OPPORTUNITIES

"Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity."

Colossians 4:5

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY!

“Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth.”- Proverbs 27:1

My friend said that all my pictures are so beautiful, and I have to agree with her so delighted I am every time I look around and I see the nature changing in so beautiful colours.

The plants are still green. Some flowers are colouring the garden, with their bright and beautiful colours, even when the day is gray.

I need my camera in my hands all the time, to register and certify what my eyes have seen lately.

Try to enjoy your day and what it brings to you at the moment. Nobody knows about tomorrow. So, smile, hug someone you love, say "I love you" why you can say it. Try to finish every task you have started. Always.

Morning Has Broken

I am not the person who stays in bed for long hours in the morning. On the opposite, I always get up early, it doesn't matter if I am working or not.

But it is interesting, how my mornings have broken since I arrived in Scotland.
If it is summer, it is day light at 4am, and I can hear the birds singing in the garden. One very small window is open every night for some fresh air. It is beautiful to hear all the sounds that come from outside of our house. I mean, the silence has broken, because the nature is alive...plants growing, birds taking and bringing seeds, some gentle showers, new season. The winter is coming, all the leaves are falling, and all the trees are getting bare so quickly, the sun is shining at 7am so shy, and sets at 5pm. Short days.

Morning has broken when it is time to get up and put my feet on road. Smile in my lips and in my heart because as the nature, I am still alive.

PRAYER

"Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful."

COLOSSIANS 4:2

My Jesus Lord, thank you for your absolutely love, care, mercy upon my life.

NEW BIRTH

“Praise to God for a Living Hope,
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,...”

1 Peter 1:3

I always think about the relationship between a new birth and a child. Do you?

Well, probably it is because a child has that innocence in her behaviour. She says what she thinks and acts accordingly.

It is certain that a child has to grow and develop to maturity. It is not different with a Christian person, who accepts Jesus Christ in her life. It is a new birth with Jesus Christ. The person needs time to learn, grow and develop to maturity.

There is no perfection, and when we grew up, we quit our childish ways, but since and then, every time we need a new start is like the first steps of a child. It requires time, training, fix.

What makes a child confident, happy and strong?

Love, care, food, and time. This is our walk with God!

We need time.

APPROACHING WITH LOVE

PROVERBS 16:24

"Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones."

I believe everybody has already had an experience trying to help someone in need. I have learned that the words can be so sharp as a knife. They can cut the good, as they can cut the bad.

How to avoid "who-are-you-to-tell-me?

Two things: love and humility

Don't hide yourself as a hermit crab. You know, since you start growing, the shell is going to be tight, and probably you are not going to fit properly inside, and then you have to look for a bigger one to live.

Spread your love, share your heart, listen to God's voice and live.

USE YOUR WORDS WITH RESTRAINT

Proverbs 17:27

" Those who have knowledge use words with restraint, and those who have understanding are even-tempered."

It is used to say that good ideas are wasted when it is a "ram-it-down-your-throat". It means, we have to learn how to say the right thing, the right way.

Monday, 1 October 2007

WATCH WHAT YOU SAY

"THE LORD GOD HAS GIVEN ME HIS WORDS OF WISDOM SO THAT I MAY KNOW WHAT I SHOULD SAY." ISAIAH 50:4
"You can offer your ideas to others as bullets or as seeds. You can shoot them or sow them. Ideas used as bullets will kill inspiration and motivation. Ideas used as seeds will take root, grow and bear fruit in the life in which they are planted. But there's a risk: once it becomes part of those in whom it's planted, you probably will get no credit for originating the idea. But if you're willing to do without the credit...you'll reap a rich harvest." Richard Harverson

COME INTO THE LIGHT

“Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.”- John 3:20-21

THE WOODIE

Our garden in the summer.

MONACO

GOD IS VERY PRESENT

Everybody faces different approaches to be strong in his faith, but Jesus is watching all of us, supporting us according to our needs.

When we start our Christian journey, we demand constant assurance, and then since we develop in our experience, we get stronger and stronger until we know Jesus so intimately that we don't need signs of His approval. No circumstances discourages us because we know that ultimately we can trust HIM.

"Being sinful, we fail. Being prone to sickness, we hurt. Being mortal, we die. Pressure wears us down. Anxiety gives us ulcers. People intimidate us. Criticism offends us. Disease scares us. Death haunts us. "

The answer is :

"God is very present... in trouble." Psalm 46:1

Yolanda Adams - Amazing Grace

DUCKS

They are real, and I saw them in Genoa.

SEEKING

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”- Matthew 6:33

If you are looking for peace, enjoyment, love, job, happiness...and I know you are seeking for something, that maybe, you don't even know what it is, and I truly understand, because we tend to look for something to complete us as a human being.

My dear, there is only one place you can find it.

LORD'S KINGDOM

Since you find it, all the other things that you need, HE is going to give you as well. Find Jesus first, let Him find you.

NATURE

CRITICISM

All my friends know I love cycling. Here in Scotland, cyclists are supposed to wear helmet and waist coat for their security. I really don't mind to wear them. I think it is really cool. In my 45, very fit, and I feel proud of doing all the stuff, unfortunately young people, I mean, specially teenagers think it is "stupid".

So, believe...a 14-adolescent-girl, just had fun of me, because I was wearing a cycling helmet. She laughed at me, and said ..."you look stupid"...

According to Collins, stupid is brainless, cretinous, deficient, dull, dumb, foolish, slow, unintelligent, idiot, imbecilic, unthinking....

Don't be surprised...I hugged her, and said:

You should say...How beautiful you are! I am missing you! How are you?...

But inside my heart was broken.

I hope God gives you wisdom to show HIS love through your attitude and beyond any kind of criticism.

HAPPINESS

I am reading the newspaper and I have found a very interesting article.

"HOW TO BE TRULY HAPPY"

If you want to know I haven't found any magic formula. But I like this:

"There are some tiny tasks do offer the greatest pleasure in life. Unwrapping a bar of your favourite chocolate, eating good bread, wrapping yourself in a warm towel after a bath..."

Think about them. What is your favourite?

DOORS

Those doors I saw in Tunis. Have you already meditated about the meaning of this word?

DOOR

DOORS

DOORS

MY REWARD COMES FROM HEAVEN

“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.”- Philippians 2:3-4

I see how difficult it is to be humiliated in order to give someone a wreath. I believe you understand what I mean.

I have done something very good to someone or to benefit some cause, but for some reason another person is recognised for what I have done.

I need to keep in my mind, that I don't have to be selfish, instead I need to be proud and do something for other interests without waiting any reaward. It means, in humility consider others better than myself.

It is an exercise!!!

A TREE

I believe you have already heard about this old saying:

"TO BE A COMPLETE HUMAN BEING YOU MUST HAVE REALISED AT LEAST THREE THINGS IN YOUR LIFE:

*HAVE A CHILD;
*WRITE A BOOK;
*PLANT A TREE.

This is my tree.

LOVELY CHILDREN

I have found a part time job in a School Club. It's a place the students stay while their parents are working and the post is Deputy Play Assistant, which means, I play with them. It is a time I really enjoy myself. They are all different but lovely.

“Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children”- Ephesians 5:1

GOD'S WISH

During all my life I have met many Christ people. Some use to say:

"Lord said this(...) to me!"

But I always wondered. How do they listen Lord's voice? I couldn't understand, and I knew I had never heard his voice in my ears.
But then, studying the Bible, and meditating about it, Lord has touch me about His desires.

I have been aware of what God is saying, and He is saying it very clearly in my ears.

How???

Once I wanted to go back to the university for my Master Degree, because I had been studying some disciplines. At the same time, my wish to leave the county was very intense. I had that confused feeling to go to somewhere, but don't know where.

I prayed Lord. It was the last day for the enrollment. I didn't understand what was listening to Lord's voice, or at least, understand what He wanted from me. I insisted for His answer.
God speaks through His words, and every time it happens my heart rejoices, and I am absolute sure when my help comes from the heaven.

Weekend

When I was young, I used to look forward to the weekend. I learned how to sew, my mother was a tailor, and then I had new clothes every weekend.

Meeting my friends, going to the club, to the movies...it was very, very good. I had a group of very good friends.

Now I am so far of my friends, and I look forward to my weekends with the same intensity. No alarm. no responsibilities, no rush, delicious meals, and at home. Mostly, at home.

I LOVE IT!!!!

REJOICE

“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!”- Philippians 4:4

This verse is like a body shake for me.

It doesn't matter what is going on...but I believe there is always something very good around. The problem is, most of the time, we allow little things get big proportion in our life.

Just value what is important. Turn your eyes for the good...and when you do it...

REJOICE...REJOICE...REJOICE...

WHERE DOES MY HELP COME FROM

" I lift up my eyes to the hills— where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.”- Psalm 121:1-2

My good job comes from Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth...if He makes everything perfect, He is the ONE who has a perfect job for me.

If you are wondering, wheather I am looking for one... Yeap, Yeap...I have been looking for a good job...but I want, that special one that He has for me.

Since I get it, I'll tell you straight away

Lord, I pray you come to open that special door you have prepared for me. Show me the way, guide me, and stay with me now and forever. Amen

NEW OPPORTUNITIES

As a Christian I have given myself a chance of ask Lord for a good job.

What is a good job in your opinion.

You might be thinking about money at this moment.

Of course, everybody does need it, and I need it as well. We live in a capitalist world. We need money for buying food, dressing, having a house, a car. And if you have a car, you can drive to work and so you can apply for better jobs in bigger centres. Furthermore, if you have money to go for a good education, and get a proper graduation and post graduation, the number of opened doors are going to increase.

It's a chain.

Get qualification and grab for a good job

Well...maybe my question has not been answered.

What is a good job?

ABBA PAI

"Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you."Isaiah 46:4

I believe YOU are the one who sustain me, who carry me, and rescue me.

I love you Lord because you are my FATHER. ABBA....PAI

A MOUSE

Since Saturday we are trying to catch a mouse in our bathroom. I just saw that black shadow on the corner very quickly trying to escape when I had got in and shut the door. I thought, no way, there is no space under that door, and there is no hole in that bathroom. It probably came from outside, a huge garden surrounding the house and a burn on the back. That is a wild mouse!!!

At the first moment, I thought to kill it with my slippers, but immediately I remembered my son's story when he stepped on a mouse while he was doing the dishes.

I got the bin and I realized that I could catch it, but it was so fast, it went behind the stereo box...Ufa!!! and now??

In the morning, no sign of the mouse...wow, the cheese was eaten...we tested the trap...it was so hard that it could have a long super on that trap without any risk to be caught. Yes, we were feeding the mouse.

Set them again, tested...and one with cheese and another with chocolate...it was still there...chewing the door and the corner to make a hole to scape. Do you know Jerry (Tom & Jerry)? The same profile, mice don't give up.

10 pm. No comfy to go to the bathroom, but needing...we opened the door and we saw some blood...closed it...waited...opened it again...and we got it.

My heart was broken, believe...but what was the alternative I had?

HOW I AM

I am quiet, thoughtful and writing...and I am sure God is working, and I am glad I am not ready. You are not ready, we are not ready.

Colossians 3
12 Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

HOW I AM

Today I woke up a little thoughtful.

Usually, I am talkative and smiley. It doesn't mean I am sad, no...not really. But I am very quiet.
I have already posted something about quietness, and I think it is very good. Once in a while it is important to visualize what is going on around.
So, today I quit .... I stop doing what I often do to watch everything, sky, flowers, street , houses and people of course.
It's not a good day to walk my dog. It's cloudy, windy and raining gently, so I walked by myself. The leaves have started falling, but the flowers are still beautiful. People at the church were all smiling this morning. The minister has a sense of humour and another lady was introduced to me. I see they are always watching who is new for the service, but I didn't stay for the "cuppy", cup of tea. Instead, I went to my driver's licence test on line. Again, I failed, but I am getting better and better every day. I hope. I also went to the Job Center. I think one of their assistant is watching me, then and again, he came to me, and asked..."Are you ok?" I am always fine. Quickly I dropped by to the College to see my friend, a hug and a kiss, but she wanted more....she kept holding me as if she was neglected...she is lovely!!!!
Many students were outside, and I could see the reflection of this new generation on the streets. Litter every where, bottles of soft drink and juice, as well empty pack of crisps of all labels. What a shame!!!
On my way home I saw some beautiful bungalows...I love them...made of stones, flowers in the garden, names on the doors...very charming...
I am here posting and reflecting about all this stuff, and also how I am for my friends, I am missing my friends, my Brazilian friends, my son, my daughter...I am missing that good meal on Sundays lunch time...
How am I?

LIFE

I have subscribed my blog in some interesting ones I have found out when surfing on line.
My question is...
How would you classify my blog?
I thought about 3 possibilities that I always have to choose from a list. Personal, Living or and Religion.
Well, it is not about religion...but it is about my personal way of living, and my experience as a Christian. I haven't chosen a religion to be part of my personal life. I have chosen Christ as a living person to guide my life.
What is life in itself?

ISAIAH 42

THIS CHAPTER MEANS A LOT TO ME

Isaiah 42

The Servant of the LORD
1 "Here is my servant, whom I uphold,
my chosen one in whom I delight;
I will put my Spirit on him,
and he will bring justice to the nations.
2 He will not shout or cry out,

or raise his voice in the streets.
3 A bruised reed he will not break,

and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out.
In faithfulness he will bring forth justice;
4 he will not falter or be discouraged

till he establishes justice on earth.
In his teaching the islands will put their hope."
5 This is what God the LORD says—

he who created the heavens and stretched them out,
who spread out the earth with all that springs from it,
who gives breath to its people,
and life to those who walk on it:
6 "I, the LORD, have called you in righteousness;

I will take hold of your hand.
I will keep you and will make you
to be a covenant for the people
and a light for the Gentiles,
7 to open eyes that are blind,

to free captives from prison
and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness.
8 "I am the LORD; that is my name!

I will not yield my glory to another
or my praise to idols.
9 See, the former things have taken place,

and new things I declare;
before they spring into being
I announce them to you."

CHURCH ADVERTS

It is very creative the adverts Daily Mail published in August. A series of photographs were taking in USA to show how Churches are using adverts to call worshippers.
Despite of the creativity of them, I have to say that is very sad.
Lord's words were not made to be negotiated. Instead, they are available for everyone who is looking for light, HIS LIGHT. Because God is the truth and the life.

LEAVING WITH JOY

Listen to the Lord's word for better days. It is His promise.

ISAIAH 55

12 You will go out in joy
and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and hills
will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field
will clap their hands.

FAST

The Bible mentions God's people used to fast in the past for God's help, in which they could over come any difficulty they were having, through God's solution, provision, even an answer for doubts they usually had.
2 Samuel 1:12

12 They mourned and wept and fasted till evening for Saul and his son Jonathan, and for the army of the LORD and the house of Israel

SCARING NIGHT

In October 2004, I had a different experience with Jesus.
We woke up about 2am with my son screaming, because he heard a funny noise in our backyard, and through the door glass he saw a stranger vulture. His screaming was so scaring that the thief, who was robbing our bicycles, 2 at all that time, fortunately had a chance to take just one. It was a very frightening moment. Hearts beating hard, a mix of crying and at the same time a feeling of comforting to have been discovered in time to not lose 2 bikes.
We had to call the police, and not before 4am, when our nerves were calming down we prayed and went back to bed for a short sleep.
While we were praying, I experienced a feeling of complete love for my son. The screaming that woke me up was so strong and loud that expressed his pain, and my suffering that moment was for his pain. An incredible love invaded my soul and when we prayed together we felt our love as one holding for Jesus Christ.
ISAIAH 45
2 I will go before you
and will level the mountains;
I will break down gates of bronze
and cut through bars of iron.
3 I will give you the treasures of darkness,
riches stored in secret places,
so that you may know that I am the LORD,
the God of Israel, who summons you by name.
